one was the tps, and the other was the thermostat sensor. would the tps keep my car from running? and how would i go about fixing that? my car is being weird, it likes to start random times and most of the times it just cranks without starting. somehow it's not getting fuel, any suggestions?

A bad TPS or misadjusted TPS is very common, if it's the original TPS it probably needs to be replaced.
the cps is where the distributor would go, on the front left side of the engine, has a black cover on it with a wheel inside that rotates with the cam and sends signal to fire to the coil packs.

well i found it, and yeah that makes sense because of how you desribed it. and now im reaaal pissed off, i just payed $2200 for this car :icon_evil that don't run and the cps is $600 from toyota, and i can't find one anywhere else!!!!! Anybody know of a temporary fix for it i can try?? or know where i can find one for cheaper than 600?!?!
Before buying a new cps have you tried testing or having it tested? check your wires and connector plugs make sure all pins are secure and wires are not exposed. use this site to help ya out with the testing.

They usually don't need to be completely replaced, it's the green connector on the top of it that gets fatigued from years of vibration of the wires and heat from the exhaust manifold. Usually you can just solder in a new 4 pin connector and that usually takes care of the problem.
Next time it will not start, wiggle that connector and see if it starts afterwords. It could be other things obviously, but that CPS connector is a very common problem.

Well damn, thanks for the help so far. But now it's not even cranking over when I turn the key. So I'm pretty sure I seized up the starter from cranking it over zoo many times. I just charged the battery so thais not it and everything else electrical works. Btw yeah that green connector might have somethig to do with it, I talked to the guy I bought it from and he said he's had trouble with the connector before because he had to let it air out because it got wet one time. Buut before my starter went out it started once, ran perfectt then I tried again and got just cranking, then started it with starting fluid and it died so idk. This car is so confusing. I love it though. Now I'm towing it to a garage to inspect everything some time this week. Any more suggestions?!? Much appreciated thanks!

Be careful what garage you go to. When they give you their opinion on the fix do yourself a favor and read the tsrm, browse the forum and ask questions here before they start to "fix" it.
Nah I'm not takin it to a "garage". In takin it to where my buddy works. He's a pretty damn good mechanic, he does work on big ass vacuum trucks and company vehicles. He said I could keep my supra at the shop and he'd help me work on it for free, and I get to keep my car there for the winter =]. But yeah I decided b4 I got the supra that I'm gonna do all the repairs to it not a garage. And where can I fund one of those connectors for the cps? Also anyone know where to find a realativley cheap starter? Thanks
about the cps, a lot of them have problems in the ground wire-there are three contacts in the tps, all three have a ground wire going from them(a white or greyish wire) and they all connect into one, the area where they connect is poorly insulated(just tape from the factory)and it corrodes overtime causing a bad or broken connection, take a multimeter, set it to ohms and check the resistance between each of the three points in the cps and the pin in the cps connector that is the ground wire, a good connection will only be about .5 ohms, if its 0 or crazy high numbers you can re wire it yourself, thats what i did.
