Not recommended.

There is no reason for welding the diff. Even for drag racing. Turning with a welded diff on our nose heavy car is asking to go fish tailing on just about every turn at speed. Not very safe and we are not hnoda's!

it would be pretty pointless and it wouldnt be a very streetable car. are planning on welding your and why? if need and lsd diff you can usually find them pretty cheap. if you weld yours its going to be very difficult car to drive. the car is not going to be happy with any king of turning.

but the 240's and the RX-7's do it all the time! :sarcasm:

...and ask them why and they will tell you a regurgitated answer.

Hopefully the next trend to catch on from a modification perspective is the "fling your car of the cliff with you in it" mod.

I second that motion..

If you weld your diff they you're jsut locking it 100% of the time. A lsd is way better...

Like Supra's with them, there is a reason we don't have a locked DIFF!

they weld it for drifting while just driving the inside wheel scuffs on every turn and very dangerous in the rain seeing is how ever corner now matter the speed the car spins not a good idea. if you dont know what your doing could lead to the welds braking and possibility of the rear end locking up completely. so really there isnt any benefit

Depends what you wanna do with it.

People need to stop putting down something they have never tried or driven.

If you're unsure, go buy another open diff for really cheap and weld that and swap it in. If you like it then keep it, if not swap it back out. The only significance of it is to get your rear wheels to either spin easier or, in some cases, to get better traction.

But hey, what do I know...

Also, search next time.
