The Lexus AFM just has the ability to metre more air than stock. It should idle fine if everything else is good. I've gotten 2 bad Lexus AFM's in a row. Not uncommon. They are delicate and they happen to be old.

agreed, the housing is different, but the electronics are interchangeable

Alright i will see if resetting the ECU does anything first, if not then ill have to try to get a hold of another Lexus AFM from a known running car lol, thanks for the advice guys! Ill post what happens after i do these series of tests

Hey I'm curious about which electronics u used. When I did MY lexus housing/bigger injector conversion, I swapped in the 7mgte sensor to the bigger, lexus housing. Also the code 31 says it could be ecu related!@!!

Okay so i tried resetting the ECU, then started the car back up, no more codes showing, though the idle speed is really rough and is around 600~ rpm's and the exhaust smells a lot like uneven air fuel mixture and when i rev the engine and let the pedal go it has an occasional "pop" or two that goes thru the muffler..

that would be the car running leaner, the idle is still rough huh? does it drive smoothly through the rpm's, more power or less power? make sure you dont turn up the boost until you have supporting mods....bad things will happen if you dont

It's at stock boost at the moment, the idle is pretty rough, and i ran a timing light to check for spark on some wires i could access, so far #1 plug wire isnt making the light go, then i tried cylinders 5 and 6 the light constantly flashed indicating spark, my next tackle would be the plug wires and see how much of a difference i notice after replacing the wires and plugs.

I hope so as well, after the new parts are on ill check timing and see if there are any codes, so far those really need to be replaced, the resistance of the spark plug wires are out of spec that is in the TSRM

Okay BUMP! I got new spark plugs and wires on the engine, still using the Lexus AFM, idling seems a bit better but still has that rough feeling once in a while. No codes present, although when checking with a timing light seems like a few of the ignition coils have little to no spark output? Does anyone know if the coils give up that easily, or is there any good replacement or mod to that besides the C.O.P mod that has been discussed on this forum? I really have little to no access to Lexus coils...

Okay so ive tested that the coils are within spec. Igniter and cps are in good working condition and has specs in the TSRM. I am still stumped as to what else could be causing this problem. It looks like it has no vacuum leaks, i still smell a rich fuel mixture out the exhaust and the idle lopes around 5-700rpm but SOMETIMES idles fine. Does not have any codes at all which makes things more complicated than they should be..

Plugs are not wet, they are gapped to IIRC around .033~ all plug wires are new. I mean shoot i even tried a different coil pack from a working GTE but it still has that idle problem. For reference i found this video on youtube shows EXACTLY how my car idles its not just an intermittent thing its always idled like that.

EDIT: on a cold start in the morning, the idle is down at 1000rpm's already and drops more, it doesnt have that cold start high idle that it should have as far as i know..

Yeah i thought TPS would cause the CEL to go on, but i read the code there isnt anything related to the TPS. However i did get a Code 52 "knock sensor" and i checked one out the pigtail harness clip was completely missing and the P.O just put a wire in there. After i noticed that, the CEL remained steady on. I really don't know what else to do at this point, no vacuum leaks, no misrouted vacuum hoses, any other suggestions?
