so my dad just gave me this mint N/A 86.5 mkiii but it has 240,000 miles.very clean and well taken care of:love:. been checking and fixing everything and decided to go somewhere safe and do some stupid shit.:evil2: BIG disappointment:cry: felt like a damn honda! i know it has allot of miles and i saw someone else with about as many miles as me had only about 140 hp:3d_frown:. my dad has another 89 mkiii turbo with some HK$ and other expensive parts on it the the turbo does not spin to well. he gave me the N/A cause he said i would kill myself with the other one.

the 89 has shitty interior but low miles 170k. should i buy a 7MGTE to swamp into my 86 or just wait and see if he thinks im ready for the turbo? how much should i expect to spend to do the swamp? Toyota sells a 3 step fuel system cleaner for $24, will it do much to my N/A?

thanks

If the 86.5 has a better interior, I would use that car. You could make that a really quick street car with the short gearing. When will you go over 140 mph anyway?

The best price option is to probably start with a donor car, like the one you aren't allowed to have. Then renew the engine before installing.

i'd say if you are willing to spend some $$$$$, then go for it. theres a thread that links to a web page where a guy tell you all the parts your going to need for the swap, and you need a shit load of parts. hope this helps :icon_surp

i did the "stupid stuff" at an abandoned military base. impossible to hit ANYTHING at this huge military vehicle repair lot. about 1/4 mile square of just flat. i always bring any vehicle i get whether it is a motorcycle or car and practice getting the feel of it. especially since my supra has no anti lock brakes or traction control. i only race on the track, never street race. we have a autocross club at the abandoned airport every weekend.

i keep good care of my supra, dont worry. it took me 4 days of cleaning it till i was satisfied:biglaugh:. ANTI-RICE. i dont really want to take the engine out of the 89 because the car is in pretty decent shape, and hate to tear the thing apart:cry:. i think i need to find some tires and rims, then do the suspension.the stock non-TEMS are alright but it could be stiffened up quite a bit. how low are people lowering their car? i dont want the thing to be scrapping stuff just going over a curb thought .when my engine poops ill look for a low miler online or from connections.

Picture of my current ride height with KYB-GR2s and B&G lowering springs. I think it's like an 1" to an 1.5" drop.
