So i searched through various threads, but none similar to mine. The closest one was a N/A one but that won't help me entirely.
Anyway, the car has a MHG and ARP studs. Rebuild was done about 5000 KM's ago. Head and Block were prepared for it.
Anyway, i start the car and it starts and idles normally. I recently changed to MAFT PRO and it is running a bit rich. No smoke on start up. None at idle.
But i still have water behind the dash. I thought maybe a small leak had appeared somewhere, but none. Albeit, it was a bit low on coolant so i filled it up.
The car doesn't overheat. Coolant doesn't come spewing out of the overflow...
The turbo wasn't replaced, but it was in good condition when it was running before. So any ideas guys?
Oh and this is sort of 2 part. Why would it be low on coolant as well?

Turn your climate control to 65 and drive it around for a little while. Trying to see if its your heater core and not your motor thats making the gurgling.

I had the waterfall, but it wasn't a BHG. I had a coolant leak from the lower radiator hose where it connected to the radiator. It was allowing air to enter the system and causing the waterfall sound.

Whether or not you have a leak in your system, you definitely have air in there. Do your best to "burp" it out and see where that leaves you.

my car has had the waterfall sound sense i bought it....oil is fine, coolant stays full, temps are perfect, and no puddles under the car accept oil lol....i only get the waterfall on a cold start in the mornings after work but once the temps raise or the system builds pressure the waterfall goes away.....i chose to ignore it for now...ive owned the car for like 3 months now.

Wouldn't hurt to have the coolant system pressure tested.

This is also one reason I cut the jiggle valve off the thermostat...air has no problem getting out to the radiator and vented to the coolant bottle ;)

I really think you need to replace the heater tap... because I strongly believe the reason why there's a waterfall is... the hose from the block to the heater tap doesn't have coolant in it... but from the heater tap to the firewall it does...(I found this out when putting a brass elbow right next to the heater tap as a temporary setup popped off the top heater hose firstly... coming from the block and no cooland spilled out.. I was like "hmm ok..." then from the hose coming from the firewall to the heater tap It had level cooland in it...)

I have temporarily changed mine with a brass fitting and topped up the reservior as my heater tap was leaking..(cracked) and i've since gotten rid of the waterfall sound and temps have dropped easily by atleast 10* on average... so last two years i've been driving it with a faulty heater tap and much much hotter temps... now its perfect... clutch fan doesn't engage at all whereas before it would constantly be on... first 1-3gears...

You'd be surprised how small an entrance the heater tap has.. if its no more than 13mm...

Before if I'd touch the radiator it'd be at a point that almost burns you... now I can have it on there no probs.

Over the pond
I had the same problem after the rebuild :D
As I said in one other thread, it was the first sound I heard after turning the car on for the first time after a rebuild. :D

^Vas, Heater tap= VSV (or however it was called)?

E: Thanks jdub, HCV it is.
