usually when a fan clutch goes it's also nice and greasy in the center (if that seal went out like mine did)

Get it over with. Go to NAPA, get a block test kit and do the do. This way you won't torture yourself wondering if you have a BHG.

In my experience these kits will find even a slightly leaky HG, and are as bankable as money.

Yep...the under tray keeps air flowing through the rad. Without it, air will take the path of least resistance and that is not through your radiator ;)

By the way, I also have the undertray, I'll try to install this weekend, becasue I have a new turbo set up so I'll see if I can install it or need some modification:sarcasm:

I come from a land down under
If i don't fit my undertray I see + 5>8c temps here cruising at Highway speeds and while in my case it's not even close to running hot in a car with marginal cooling ie: (Blocked rad, debris in the AC Con, dirty scaled block) it would be enough to tip you into overheating...

I have to disagree on that marginal cooling bit... I think its more then robust enough to do what its meant to.

That is strictly speaking water, oil is a little different story. LOL.

sweet.. I'm ~ 210f on the highway and would like to get it to ~ 200f and i'd be happy. a bit high, but for electric fans, cant ask for much, hahah..

Does that waterwetter stuff work at all? if i can get 2-5*f from that it would be worth it as well..

Works best with straight water, and there have been reports of it gelling up with coolant. Who knows what else was happening in those cases.

never had an issue with em gelling with coolant

they work best with straight water but straight water works better than coolant and water as well, it's about protecting the system as well...
