whats up guys .i need some info on a new water injection system i just put in by snow performance i have a 7mgte with mhg apr studs,ct-26 upgrade to 60 trim,3.3 elbow,ame fuel pressure regulater,3 inch piping with no cat. ,warlock muffler straight through,N/A head port polish port matched,3 angle valve job, boost gauge by vdo,fuel to air gauge not a wide band,oil pressure gauge,ngk plugs and wires , evc 2 boost control,lexus afm,walbro 255 fuel pump,rfl blow off valve,jdm motor and water temp gauge by auto meter.my question is how much boost can i run on stock motor and whats a good fuel ratio for what i got and what you guys think about water injection with and with out methanol and if and body know how to tune the water and methanol injection for what i got, like what jet to run.i would like to ask what power you guys think i could have with all ive got in this motor?ill soon take it to the dyno till then i would like guess on this.the car i have is a 88 supra mk3.iam running up to 20psi spike holding 15psi

What did snow recommend ? Maftpro might be ( read that as i'm no expert ) a good tool for tuning meth/water injection because it will tell you how much fuel it is pulling and visa-versa how much meth you are using .


FYI - Malloynx was using meth injection I believe and into the 500s' with a 67mm turbo .

20 psi is no problem with water injection. It looks like you are running stock injectors and you have no electroninc control over your AFR. That means that you should be hitting fuel cut around 15 psi, so how are you spiking to 20 without hitting it?
You'll need a wide band for tuning, as your dancing light gauge is near useless. I tune to 11.8:1 under full boost, and I watch EGT's if at all possible and I keep them under 1200 deg F. The benefit of water comes in to suppress detonation, which means that once you have a good tune you can actually bump the timing up a tad and pick up some spool time and power without detonating.
I wouldn't use methanol in your situation until you are approaching 400whp. The stock 440's are perfectly capable of fueling 400 and I would tune conservatively and if it seems that you are running out of fuel, add a little methanol to the mix, and pull a little from the injectors. You can still tune to 11.8:1 with no problems using a 50/50 methanol water mix. Anything below 400 would just complicate the tuning process using methanol. pure water will supress detonation just fine.
I agree whole-heartedly with logan that MAFT-pro would be the tuning tool you would need to really dial your car in and get some good, solid, dependable numbers out of it.

Sorry to jump back in but, this is what he is running in his intercooler? That is the way that I read it but it didn't sound that way to begin with. Sorry that a NA is asking but I like to know as much as possable.

Water injection is usually installed underneath (it might be above I forget exactly) the fuel injectors iirc.
They are timed to squirt water into the runners at the same time the fuel is if I'm not mistaken.

Someone correct me if I'm not exactly right.
That's general idea anyways.

I have the devils own alcohol injection kit and I love it. I use MAF-T to cut fuel, and I'm cutting about 20% fuel with alky injection. It works out great.

I'll soon switch to MegaSquirt, just for the hell of it.

So is this like ice on the manifold between drag rounds or methane injection(hottscennessey)? Keeping the fuel cool or replacing the fuel for short runs. I would assume it would be cooling as running water into the motor is always bad, I think.

So they are droping the temp in the combustion chamber by adding a small amount of water? Or is it for a different reason? I'm sorry, I am not trying to jack your thread, I am just really curious about this idea.

It's literally sprayin alcohol (techincally methanol.. walmart brand windsheild washer fluid, winter formula).

cleans internals, lowers combustion chamber temp, extra fuel, controls detonation (allowing more boost).

Not to mention windshield washer fluid is cheaper than gas at 88 cents a gallon ;)
