nick can I hear your reasons for this? im curious on this subject because i have heard so many people stand on different sides on this one. I locked the cable on my old tranny when I had my NA and ran that for a long time and never had any issues with it, im about 50-50 if I want to continue doing this on my new motor and trans.

That raises main line pressure based on throttle position. No need for high pressure when you are at part throttle heading to the grocery store. When you stomp on it, the pressure goes up anyway.

Is there any way that it could harm the tranny? Right now i dont really know how to hook it up with my FFIM and q45. Also, wouldnt the high pressure mean more flow through the cooler?

i would think constant high pressure when not needed would shorten the life of some of that mumbo jumbo in that shifto box.
the high pressure would probably cause high temps, even through the cooler.
:dunno: makin' assumptions.

We dont need 15 lbs of boost in a street car either.
We are just looking to get the pros/cons of running the higher pressure to make a more informed decision. I know that the higher pressure creates more heat. The larger cooler offsets it to some degree but in my mind doesnt offer enough benefits to justify locking the line pressure open.

Would also like to hear more about enlargening the ports to fill the accumalators. Or any other mods that can be done to improve shift performance on our trannies. The $800 valve body doesnt appeal to me not knowing what is done to it.
