PS:

Does anyone have any good close up pics of the 88 and 89 nozzles? I'm not sure which my car has (I believe my hood was replaced at some point, and the 88 hood part number changes up to the 89 hood with the new nozzles.)

When I first did this mod, I used washer nozzles from a Volvo V70. I chose them because I own a V70 and loved the way they spray. I was able to get them to fit in the hood after some dremel work and a few washers.

Later on, I was walking through the parking lot at work and noticed that late model camry's had the fluidic nozzles, so I looked them up on the EPC and ordered some. I was not sure they would fit, but in fact they were drop-in replacement since, as we now know, Toyota standardized their nozzles from 89 on. However, the Camry nozzles are not as good as the Volvo V70 ones. The spray has a narrower angle and less volume, but they still work well.

I believe I have a V70 nozzle kicking around somewhere in the garage, so if anyone wants to try it on an 87-88 hood send me a PM and I'll try to find it.

I LOVE my Solara (Camry) sprayers (approx $11 - $12 each after the discount if you call one of the parts counters that supports the community - Champion Toyota or Elmhurst Toyota).

Not to threadjack, but is there info somewhere on how to remove the damn things in the first place? I've never really been able to get as good a look at 'em as I'd like and I want to have some clue what I'm doing before I try taking them off to clean/replace. I'd rather not end up breaking something. Anyway, all my searches turn up nothing so if there IS some kind of info out there.. a point in the right direction would be appreciated.

Probably too late now, but I found this thread looking for the same advice!

I used needle nose pliers to gently squeeze the tabs at the front and rear (think front and rear of hood) of the nozzles. It helps to go in from a bit of an angle so you don't damage the part of the nozzle that connects to the feed hoses.

Whilst squeezing those tabs try gently pushing up. If nothing happens then squeeze the tabs with a bit more pressure and try gently pushing up again.

Once you have enough pressure on the tabs the nozzle will come out of the top of the hood with no resistance. Release the pliers and celebrate!

Just a word of warning, depending on age the nozzles can be very brittle. A lot of plastic came off of one of mine just when I pulled the feed hose off. So cover the engine before removing these if you have anything open.
