I was coming home from work yesterday and i started to smell raw fuel inside the car, i recently filled the tank full btw. and i was getting on the on ramp and it appeared to randomly start to bog in 3rd, so i engaged clutch and revved it up a bit and slowly engaged again and it started to drive fine. i didn't have any issue on the drive home (30~ mins) I pulled up parked it and turned it off, later that night i was going to pick someone up and all i was getting was crank but no fire, it was late night and cold so i couldn't really see anything visually. I'm sure alot of you guys have experienced this and there may be many many different issues, but i just want to know what you tried out and if it worked and i will go by that and hopefully i will figure out exactly what happened. Of course any help and suggestions will be appreciated.

Quick info on the car.
89' Turbo 5speed.
Bought it with a rebuilt motor with 3000~ miles, all stock.
No EGR, EVAP.

Thanks again you guys,

Jose

I haven't been able to touch it today, family just got back from a month long trip so im spending time with them right now. But i can't seem to put my finger on what would cause me to smell raw fuel while driving on the freeway and something that seems like "Bogging/Misfire" and cleared and now i got no fire.

Lol... :)

Glad it worked!

Well, you're being plagued by a ~21 year old engine harness. Your best bet is to do some continuity checks to find out which wire(s) it is. My guess would be that it's the CPS wires.

Yes, i was very excited, you did a good deed. haha.
I understand the cars old, alot of people seem to overlook that.
I just can't seem to figure how to keep them from losing contact or what not. A cleaner and some protector? I would like to just re wire the clip but that seems challenging since i've never done such.

I just cut the rubber boot surrounding the wiring at the CPS and cut and spliced in new wires, making sure to separate each wire with heatshrink. They were pretty burnt up and cracked, haven't had a problem since.
