After much browsing on your forums i could not find an anser to the fault that i am having, so i decided to join here and ask for help, i know - not the way to start! :(

Turned on my 7mgte '90 supra this morning, and all is fine, as soon as i move the car, say about 10 metres the warning light kicks in.....

The car is running fine, not overheating and oil pressure is fine.... as soon as i move the car, be it 1st, second or reverse within seconds, the light kicks in....

does anyone have any ideas? please???!?

the level is not tooooooo low but when you move the fluid moves and the sender in the lid then gives off a low fluid light

nah the nadbrake is off naturally, as that also shows the ((!)) light, so its level, stationary with the HB off.

just running downstairs to check the brake fluid - update coming soon.

*sighs* the fluid is fine on the car, not a problem

have experimented more.... the car doesnt have to be moving for the light to kick in

when the HB is on, naturally the ((!)) is off. take off the HB, and the light goes out.... as soon as i put my foot on the brake, the light comes on, and just wont go off.

the front pads are fairly worn, but not excessive (about 3mm left) could it be a pad warning indicator.... im not sure, as i cant find any cables from the shoes that could warn me of this

guys, please help

I don't think our cars came with pad wear warning indicators.

Just get a brake job and have them flush out all brake fluid and new fluids poured in...

Only three things can normally make that light go on
1) handbrake
2) low fluid
3) charging system non-operational with ignition on (bulb check) but will
also light the charge and bulb failure lamps.

Since you've ruled out all of those, then its time to do some wiring checks. Start with the HB switch and fluid sensor, if okay, then start tracing the brake bulb circuit wire and look for where it might be chaffing against the chassis and occasionally shorting out.

3p141592654 / GrimJack was closest - i posted on another supra forum and they hit the nail on the head.... it was the braking sensor, a blue box just from the offside tailight... its prone to getting wet or corroded.... i just sprayed some electrical cleaner on there and resealed the unit - all is now fine..

Many, many thanks to all that have helped - i fealt that i should let you all know just in case another user may get the same issue

Hmm... I'd like more details on this box... where exactly is it located?

This blue box ( bulb failure unit) is located behind the plastic trim near the right hand tail light,

I usually just have problems with my lamp failure light if that thing is out of whack...kinda weird. Was that something different on UK cars?
