Hey everyone, I made a little writeup for some of my friends and figured I'd try to contribute to the Supra community too. I'm going to rig up some kill switches, but I didn't want to cut into any of my interior so I figured I'd make a box to hold them. I also wanted an excuse to use fiberglass as I've never messed with it before. Anywho, this is my first attempt so go easy on me, heh, I'm tryin to help with the process cause God knows I had to got stuck a few times. ENJOY!

Edit: Got some more of it done today, but I probably won't get to work on it again til Monday.

good post, but just so you know, if its not structural, just cover the wood in fleece, soak it in fiberglass resin, let it harden, then bondo and sand away... sooo much easier than laying mat or cloth...

Looks like it's going to look good once done, I've only messed with fibreglass once and I had great results with it. I fixed my brotehrs wing for his Mustang, because when he bought it it had a huge crack in the corner, now you can't even tell it was there.

I used to have some really nice before and after pics of it but not anymore :(

If you don't want the wheels exploding in your eyes try to get the ones with interwoven fibres, they hold together instead of exploding. I know this because I blew up my fair share of disks before finally spending the $15 for a pack of better ones ahahaa. Looks sweet tho. Keep at it.

You did a great job!

Only thing is (constructive crit).... how much is that going to weigh after all said and done.

Like the other memebers have said, if its not holding up some weight, the glass matt isn't needed. You could have used the cloth t shirt and doped it with the resin.

It's made of a kind of wood like bulsa...balsa, however the hell it's spelled, haha. I bought it a Michaels... so the frame weighed next to nothing. The heaviest part is probably the resin soaked shirt and that weight is still negligable in the grand scheme of the fatty supra, heh. It's a small box, the dimensions of the base are 5.5" x 2.75" so I'd say when all is said and done...maybe 5-10 oz...somewhere in that arena.

Can your wife cook? His box may turn out more tender than the meatloaf if she cooks like my momma does...:biglaugh:
