I currently have an Apexi exhaust, forgot the name... friend who I bought it from installed it. Anyways its for a turbo, which I still dont have in , its big, its loud and comes out at an angle.

Id like something with more of a stock look to it and stock sound, maybe a tad deeper, but SAME performance as my APEXi.

Any ideas guys? I heard theres a Greddy exhaust that has 91 decibels putting out, and stock is 89...

hks super drager or a greddy sp (if you can find one as they are discontinued) will work fine for you. they are both quieter than your apexi is probibly and will work fine. what about possibly adding in a resonator?

well, I need to do a full change, my current system on my N/A! yes NA, I didnt do this is as follows,

3" all the way, no cat, no silencer, no resonator with an APEXi (n2 I think or something) As straight as possible for a turbo set up that never happened.

I've been looking at the AeroChamber series made by Hooker Headers. They're one of the few companies out there with a straight through muffler which uses noise cancellation in the design. I've read alot of positive things about them... anyone here have any ideas?

On an N/A a resonator makes a HUGE difference.... I'm definitely putting one back on my car, it'll just be a straight through design this time.

Regardless, Tanabe come with a certificate to show that it complies with noise emission laws and is rated at 91-93db on the exhaust whether its for turbo or N/A.

I love mine on the 1JZGTE. Nice and smooth and quiet and really roars to life at WOT.

Anyone have a good clip of the tanabe?

Here's a question... Does anyone elses exhaust kinda drone at around 2k rpms? Not a drone like you would think of on a civic or anything, it just kinda resonates... do any of these catbacks do the same thing?

I have custom 3 inch pipe back to an HKS CarbonTi muffler...

I had an 18 inch resonator put into my exhaust when I had it built. There is minimal drone at any RPM. I would say it the worst at rought 2200...but even then its not bad at all. A resonator might be what you want. HTH

If you only have an NA I would just buy a stock turbo exhaust. You can find them on ebay new for like 200.

200 for a stock exhaust? sounds wasteful. but then again, we are talking about mods for an NA...
