The purpose of the "Angel Eyes" is for some illumination when the headlights are off. You're going to drive around with your headlights off but leave them UP? OK. To each their own. If it makes you happy then sure... why not?

Why not? Because those things are horrible for lighting the road (just like those cheezy diamond cut ones).

This comes back to the "Doing something because it looks cool (or at least you think it looks cool)" arguement.

Let's say (I know I've used this one before) you find a really bitchen looking set of brakes on Ebay. These things are the BOMB! You know that if you had those on your ride you would get all kinds of looks (chicks, whatever). The only problem is they are made of cardboard. But they look AWESOME! Would you put them on?

That's what we're talking about here. REDUCING performance because something looks cool. I'll agree that I do love the angel eyes when I see them on the BMWs but do you really want to sacrifice lighting for this?

Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra $$ on a set of Hella H4 lenses (here's a link to a reputible souce even - http://www.suprasport.com/Hella-H4_p_84-36.html ) and then put some quality bulbs in there (and NO not those HID wannabes - or actual HID for that matter, there's a whole different discussion about light patterns and the H4 lens not being built for the HID capsule and causing blinding of oncoming drivers) and you will actually IMPROVE your lighting over stock AND look/be a little cooler.

Angel Eyes, or "Celis" as the manufacturer Hella named them, were nice when they first hit the market as a new, innovative styling item and was unique. Leave it up to the aftermarket to totally ruin a good thing. Now every cheap chinesse make light has the Celis copy angel eyes and they degrade and cheapen the look of your car.
