hello all i am having a big problem with my 7mge

first the car is a 1986.5 supra 5 speed... my problem is my car idles kinda ruff but when u give it throttle is accerates to about 3,000 rpms then acts as if u let off the throttle it just shuts off and goes back to idle

when i bought this car it was having this issue so i took it to a shop and they put a new idle air control motor on.. the sensor next to the throttle body on the upper intake.... i think thats the name of it i been a chevy guy for to long LOL.. anyway that didnt fix it so they put a water hose clamp on the hose going from the IAC to the throttle body and clamp it down and fixed the problem well i just got done with a headgasket job and it doing the same thing it did when i first got it

but if u clamp the hose to much it stalls and if u take the clamp of allowing the hose to breath freely then it want idle either what do u suggest

o and the check engine light not on but i dont think it works cause it dont even come on when u turn the key on

All you need to do is remove the shroud over the instrument panel. This requires removing the black stereo bezel somewhat to reach the screw in the bottom right corner. It has no screw in that area, but I'm not positive if you need to pull enough to need to take out any screws. You also have to remove the switch panel for the bottom left screw. It has only one screw under the bottom of the dash. Then you can remove the 3 screws holding in the instrument panel itself. Once it is out, replacing the bulbs is simple.

Your motor problem sounds to me like it could be AFM related.

i took the gauge cluster out and swapped the bulb from the door ajar warning to the check engine light and the check engine back to the door warning and the door warning still lite up but the check engine didnt so there more problems

well i unclamped the hose to the idle air sensor to throttle body and the car whouldnt start so i unhooked the throttle postion sensor and it cranked and idled at about 2000 rpm but whould accel to redline so i slowly tighten up on the iac hose and the idle went down to 800rpm and it accel to redline what do u think???

but i went and drove it and it still aint 100% it revs freely but aint got much torque exspecialy in 1st gear

well i did some checking all 7.5a fuse are fine in the car

now if u look at the wiring diagram i tested at bith yellow wires at junction box three and they both had 11.5 volts

now i choulnt find which on was pin w in the manuel but there is only one gr-g wire which im pretty sure is grey with a green stripe right??? but anyway i only found one gr-g wire going to the ecu so i pulled out the biggest yellow connetr were the wire was going and checked it and it also had 11.5 volts
so in theroy i checked in front of the bulb and behind correct??

now what do i do

Check your timing and make sure your TPS(throttle position sensor) is adjusted properly. Also, make sure there isn't vacuum leak with the ISCV(Idle speed control valve).

well since i got two tps i plug one in and held it in my hand and as i opened the throttle i twisted the tps and the vavle in the intake that splits the runners open and it reved to redline no problem.. so thats my problem but when i mount the tps up the two ears are not twisting the wheel inside the tps

It still has to be set according to the TSRM with a ohm meter.
