Sorry about the old thread:

Appparently I missed something here, My doesn't exactly drop in. maybe because I don't have the right pump or I don't have the right install kit.
I do have the walbro gs 341, and the install kit that came with it. But why is it that I have all this space between the pump and bracket?. So far no one has mentioned a foam sleeve that is supossed to be installed around the body of the pump,
What happened did I get the wrong install kit?? Wrong pump?? What happened??
What did you guys do to fill that gap between the pump and bracket??

I know you gotta use a zip tie to hold in place that would put the pump at an angle?

what do you mean pump and bracket? the side of the pump? the pump is like 1/2 the size of the stock one in width. Just seat it on the bottom and the hose will hold it on the top.

yep, between the side of the pump and the bracket there's close to an inch of gap. the instructions mentioned a foam sleeve, apparently I need that, no else has had this problem?
I find it hard to beleive the hose is gonna keep it from moving. I know you gotta use a zip tie to hold in place that would put the pump at an angle

set up the pump then try to push it with your finger.

that would help a lot

I can't how it is that you guys that a Walbro upgrade go with out some sort of braket supporting the pump. I know everyones saying the hose holds it on but ,I guess I dont trust it that much. I'd rather be safe than to rely on the hose., that's just me,.. though. My fuel line lines up real nice. Instead of a zip tie that puts it at an angle. with out that bracket, that the gap I' was talking about.

I just used two spare pieces of fuel line that I had to cushion the pump against the bracket, and help isolate the pumps vibrations from transmit any noise through the fuel pump bracket. Then, I used a worm clamp (like the one pictured above) to secure the pump with the new "isolators", and hold everything together.

It works like a charm. :) The only time I hear the pump is when the car is starting, and a few seconds after the engine has been shut down. Other than that, I never hear my pump running over the engine noise.
