Walbro install, protective sheath / sleeve necessary?

is this the filter pad you are talking about? If it is i recommended putting it on. Because when i pulled the stock one out last week, there were a lot of dirty that was trapped and would have gone into the pump if wasn't for the filter pad.

no...I did not say filter pad. Its a sleeve that goes around the pump if you have ever seen the installation instructions. Well, hopefully it works!

odd I don't remember installing a sleeve. maybe mines not a real walbo.

the instructions I received were three fold, One enlish, one french, one spanish. You could tear them in three for your needs, part X was about the sleeve, which was no included in the package. So, I was almost upset that I didnt get one, then I realized the stock fuel pump did not have one to begin with, so i dont know if that matters

Yep. Install the pump with the sleeve to help make it quieter.

The kit i bought from driftmotion didn't come with any sleeve that i remember.

If you're talking about an in-tank fuel pump, you don't use a sleeve. If you're talking about an in-line fuel pump, use the sleeve since it adds insulation of noise and protects the fuel pump.

Well it was in the instructions for my in-tank pump, thats why I was asking.
