Well I picked up a 86.5 NA and the tranny is stuck in first gear, or that's what the guy told me. I can sit in the car and move the shifter around and feel it going in and out, when I push the clutch in the pedal just goes to the floor. When I try and crank the car over it acts like the car is in gear and the whole car just tries to move forward. Pressing the clutch pedal does nothing because it just goes down to the floor.
Last night I pulled the tranny out of the car. I took it all apart so I could see all the gears, levers and such. Everything looks clean, there isn't a bunch of wear on anything and evrything moves freely. There is no sticking when anything moves. There isn't a ton of shavings in the oil either.
When it was apart when it's in Neutral you can grab the input shaft and everything spins freely. When it's put in gear nothing spins. I am completly clueless when it comes to transmissions and am really not sure how it's supposed to be. This is the first trans I've even taken apart. I just really don't get what's going on with it. I'm really hoping someone here can give me some insight into what's going on with it.
