i've heard speculation that the front half (transmission side) of a r154 driveshaft can be combined with the back half (diffy side) of w58 driveshaft to make one comeplete drive shaft for someone who has done a 1jz swap.... can it be done?:x::x::x:

..... and GO!!!!

Back halves are interchangeable, but not all the same. My A340E driveshaft back half is much thicker than the W58 rear half I have sitting around, but they will still interchange. Not sure what (if any) implications this would have on how much power the driveshaft can handle.

Do you know a good driveshaft shop that can re-balance the new unit. If you start swapping out halves you will have to have it balanced or you will have bad vibes at 60 mph plus or thereabouts. They are balanced at the factory as a unit and mixing halves with different weights isn't a good idea. Balancing will prolly cost 50 dollars plus.
