W58 question.

Alright, this question's about torque here, so I'll make it short and breif. I know the W58's aren't the strongest, but I have an engine idea in mind that... ironically... is hard to keep the torque below 325 for the horsepower I want out of this engine.

-How much torque can the W58 box handle?
-Is 350-375 ft. lbs. pushing it?

Makes me wonder if an R154 is worth it.

A few people have held 400+ (some at 450) for a little while. I think Dr J here held 450 for 6 months.

A lot of people run 300-350 on them ( like me, but i havnt actually really gotten on her yet :))

Well if it's only going to last a few months then I think I'll hunt for an R154 instead. It wouldn't be worth trying to make a custom-fit mount for the transmission if I'd just blow the gears.

There's no turbo lag here, I'm talking real torque.:naughty:
