yeah me neither, wouldnt it have to be all w58 parts with an upgraded clutch since the stock w58 clutch will burn really fast?
Some people have run N/A-Ts with OEM clutches. For low boost levels it'd be fine as long as it is new. I'd upgrade it though.
Read the page on the 7MGTE swap into a Celica Supra on the Sonic site. He covers a lot of information since he used a W58 in the car.
I love the gearing on the w58. It just needs to be a 6 spd manny.
I will admit that there are many times I reach down to shift into 5th because it feels like I'm running in 4th and I am already in 5th. That's my only gripe with it.
Lower profile tires would go a looooong way on this transmission.

That's why I switched over to a 3.91 LSD. On a DD where over half of my driving is highway I really wanted better mileage... it's not for everyone though.
With higher profile tires you move further with every revolution, with lower profile tires you put down move power per every inch you move.

The smaller the tire the quicker you are out of the hole, you lose top end also.
A taller tire will be slower out of the hole but you'll have more top end.

So sinse we don't have any real top end anyway...., one may think of going with a really low profile tire. It changes the complete gearing of the car, you shift more with smaller tires.
I don't think low pro tires are bad for straight line racing but a medium height tire may be better. Someone on here will flame me for this post. I'm sure to be wrong about something.
If you take it to the streets low pro's are the way to go.
