source was google..but that was a few years back...now the internet is flooded with crap and its hard to find it

edit: here is one source..

http://www.suprasport.nl/engines/1JZ-GTE-VVTi_engine.html&zenid=1k4dcsr5n3dso725irfvni8eb5

"Power: 280Hp @ 6200Rpm Torque: 362Nm @ 2400Rpm This engine originaly came in the JZX-100 Chaser. The 1JZ-GTE-VVTi engine is equipped with a single CT26 turbocharger..."

not too sure on the exact rpms tho...it might have been 2400rpm or 2800...either way its in the 2000rpm range..and its torque not hp

Ok. That's what I was looking for.

I'd like to see a dyno graph of the VVti engine though. With my engine, I may not have made max torque(290) until 5000 but I was making 280ft/lbs@ around 3200. So I'm wondering what the hp/tq curves of the VVti look like.

there insane usualy,

i had seen one for a matrix or a corrola in a training video, explaing the goods abou vvti-L

off idle the engine is creating more torque, and by about 2k or so is almost making max, and can hold max torque almost out to red line.

When you say high horsepower, elaborate. Under 400RWHP isn't "high" to me. And I'd love to see a 1JZ with VVTi make more than that, dont' get me wrong, I'm serious. I would think the VVT-i would be restrictive, as it is in the 2JZ with it. More information would be great to know.

In Japan people seem to be more concerned with proper tuning and driveability, and less obsessed with peak hp dyno numbers like people are here.

1JZ max power is not at 2500 rpm. Power in a car is refrenced as work, which is horsepower. Torque is the maximum force an engine can produce. That number is possible, especially with VVTi.
