Hello, I just want to know if u can run a set of greddy 720cc inj with a hks vpc that has a 550cc chip in it. If i can what do i have to do to get it to work?
I've thought about this, too, but I think you need to get a S-AFC or something similar to handle the extra gas. If I understand correctly, the VPC wouldn't recognize the difference and you would be getting too much fuel. HTH...
BTW, that is what I plan on doing also, but using the AFC to dial it back.
El Capitan is correct! You'll need some sort of other tuning device to go along with the VPC.
If you haven't gotten a VPC yet, you may want to have a look at the MAP ECU, sort of VPC and AFC rolled up into one. If you are really going to need those 720's, some standalones might be worth a look also.
I am running 756cc accel inj with a VPC/550 chip and a SAFC2. It's manageable. Right now without too much tuning (I'm waiting till I put in the new built motor), I can get 22 mpg on the highway, but am only getting 13-15 in town(which really blows).
You're probably going to want to look into dual walbros in the tank if you really want to make that big of inj worth installing (which I'm working on right now)
You could scale back the fuel with any number of devices - HKS S-AFR, HKS GCC, GReddy e-Manage, or A'PEXi S-AFC. A lot of people notice the VPC runs the car pretty rich anyway, so running a 550chip on 720's might not be too bad. Of course you'll need the proper gauges (wideband and/or EGT) to make sure you're safe.
i currently have the vpc along with the gcc, but i wanted to make sure that the car would even idle with 720's and a vpc+gcc setup. i have been considering getting an afc. or just a complete aem.
I have heard of people running the VPC with 720s. IMO when you reach the horsepower level that you need 720cc, you should go standalone. However if you were going to use piggybacks the VPC + e-Manage will be your most flexible setup.
