The vpc produces a very dirty signal. Mine did the same thing when I first installed it and wired my s-afc in the HKS said to with the s-afc/afr in between the map sensor and the vpc head unit. I then moved it so the s-afc was between the vpc head unit and the factory ecu and it idled and ran like stock. This was with a 550 chip and 680 cc injectors. The s-afc/afr(which ever you use) acts as a filter to clean up the vpc signal to the stock ecu on the afm signal wire plus I always left my vpc knobs at 12:00 and use my afc to tune which gave me adjustments up to +/- 50%. Do you have a wide band or anything? Mine even tho running it though the S-AFC, I have to have two of the knobs turned to complete oposites to get it to idle at 14.7. I do not know off hand which two, have only had it in the car two months and the car is at the paint shop. But basically you have to get a wideband or get it dyno tuned because there is a huge variability in tuning capabilities. Does it rev up fine?

yeah it revs fine but no i dont have a wide band at all. so much for plug and play. it seems to me like through the power band im running lean because my egts go up alot faster than they use to. and it idles now but it will bounce back and forth from 500-1100 bout 15 seconds on each. this vpc stuff is starting to bum me out.

Well without any other kind of tuning support the VPC is next to useless. Take it off and save up some money for a wideband and a safc then put it on.....or just blow that sucker up.

i spoke to someone at hks tech support and was told that if u spin the knobs around more than once it will still affect settings and it must be retuned.

Not true, cause if it was I would be screwed, I have spun mine around and around while the car is running. Look inside the VPC it is simply designed so that when you turn the knob you complete a different circuit/connection. It is not a potentionameter(SP sorry) style switch. I can spin mine around while the car is running and it will go through the same tuning over and over and over again. As far as not having a way to tune or adjust, at the very least I would get take it off so it is running and wait till you can get a wideband or borrow one to just be safe. Cause when I first hooked mine up some of the wiring was a little off and it was off the hook lean(run full time wide band so caught it no prob). Just my 2 cents tho.

hey how would the car act if the map was bad? maybe thats the big problem im having as for tunning with a wideband, for the mods i have im not to worried about a wideband. dont get me wrong i would love to have one but im only running 10 psi. but i do have a egt gague so im some what safe.
