You already made the best choice. A DD will save you so much aggravation and the dread of not getting it back together in time for work/school. It's the best mod I ever did:)

The rest is budget and goal driven. What issues is the 7M having? Unless it has a BHG and rod knock it is probably just cheaper to fix the 7M.

yea thats what i was thinking ... something is wrong with timing, valves , etc... some other stuff with electrical.. and if it would be too expensive and time consuming as a DD. but ive always wanted to do a swap

First find out whats your issue. Do you work on your own car? Whats your budget?

If you dont work on your car and your budget is $3000 and less keep the 7m..... $5000+ go with a JZ series.

Personally whenever my 7m dies I will be going 2JZGE-T from my pricing its going to cost me around 2000+/- that includes buying the motor, 2mm MHG, rebuilding it and random parts to get it running b/c I will re-use some of my 7m parts like my IC pipes, IC, exhaust, boost controller, SAFC II, all my guages, injectors etc.
