vhs to either dvd

i am wondering how I can put this one old portion of this one portion of a vhs tape I have, I prefer to put it on disc, but I was also wondering if i could at least put it on those mini dv tapes on my digital camcorder.

but prefer to put it on disc for the long run,,

ohh an one more main thing, anyone know how I can put all my mini DV tapes I made from my dgital camcorder to disc,,,

You will need a video program, a CD or DVD burner (DVD preferred because of its high capacity), and a firewire cable (probably 4-6 or 2-6). Then you hook up your camera/VHS player to your computer, transfer the video, edit at will, save the file, then burn to DVD or CD. I used to do it all the time back in high school a couple years ago when I was in the A/V group.

know know what, I was trying to do that before, when you plug the firewire from the camcorder to the p/c, an transfer it to the hrad drive, the viv was like a good 700 meg, or more,

for example, one tape has four songs I recorded at the buckethead concert, an an the lenth of transfer was a like 700 meg..

plus , my p/c is only a 40 gig old 6 yrs old pc, already filed with supras an porn,..
can I compress it first or what ?

You can't compress it. You should burn all your stuff onto DVD's, or get in internal 250 GB hard drive and mount it into an external case. It's cheaper than buying an external hard drive.
