I realised what was meant by the Group A Supra having a knife-edged crank which referred to the counter balancers on the crank being "knife edged" to minimise resistance.

The clip shows a 4cylinder, but the idea is there... will help you understand more about the 7M any motor really...

I hadn't seen that, really cool.

It's a bit hard to tell, but is that an interference design? It looked like the pistons would hit the valves if the timing belt broke.

Probably, which is probably why it has a chain and not a belt.
