Version 3: 2JZ HX40 NA-T

Dafuck. To be fair, I haven't boost leak tested the car yet. I really didn't think it would spool this slow, even though a 17 cm^2 housing is like a 1.08 or something A/R =\

Moy, BEP makes T4 housings for Holsets? I could only find mitsubishi and T3 flanged ones. If you don't mind linking me that would be great, I want a T4 with something like .84 A/R, which gpopshop said they can do, but it's going to run me about $420 plus shipping and downtime...

just contact BEP, they have the custom stainless housings, they can make a custom T4 housing. I had contacted a shop about buying one and they said that BEP could do it, but it's around 3-350 last I checked.

btw, some sources say 17cm^2 is ~1.29A/R, others ~1.09A/R. also found that it depends on which wheel is used and the size of said wheel, so take everything with a grain of salt I suppose...

Marco im running a .68 on my turbo which helps with my spool times. I thought about an .81 for a longer powerband but with a rev limit of 6800rpm that's not worth it

3-350 is less than I've been quoted for a modified garrett, so that sounds great. The 17 cm^2 is larrrggeee haha. I wouldn't doubt it being 1.29 or so...

Also didn't know HX40s had different turbine wheels. I figured out my compressor wheel is a 60mm vs the normal 58mm... I guess I should measure the turbine before I actually buy a housing! Thanks for the info.

Yeah I want something around .68, or maybe .84 cause that comes in divided T4... I'm pretty sure .68 would still spool faster than a divided .84 though.

Recently finished up the 2J in my car. It's still got a lot of small work ahead of it, like making brackets and cleaning up some of the wiring routing, but it's running and driving beautifully, tuned for 15 psi for now. Runs on JDM 7M-GTE ECU using HKS VPC and Apexi S-AFC (7M ignitor, IS300 coilpacks, 7M CPS).

No, a good friend of mine did. I can't weld that nicely on aluminum haha!

Could he make a 7m one? I would be willing to pay him obviously

I started putting my battle version arms on my rear subframe today. It was pretty gay. Cutting was involved, as well as a lot of head-scratching and brute force.

In other news, I ordered a Precision 6262 with a .63 A/R housing. So the HX40 + downpipe modified to fit ebay 2JZ-GE manifold in a MKIII is up for grabs. $600 takes the HX40 (seriously ~40 miles since the rebuild), plus the downpipe modified for HX40 flange ($70 for the flange and clamp alone...) that exits where stock 2JZ downpipes do! It'll all fit like in the pictures of my engine bay.

btw, got in contact with a BEP dealer, apparently they only have a T3 .70 hotside :/

get a QSV, it'll cut spool a decent bit

I bought a 6262 with a T4 .68 exhaust housing. I'm already regretting getting the .68, cause I made the decision to go standalone/more fuel like 2 weeks after I ordered the turbo haha!

I just put an OEM TT head gasket on it

HX35s come in many different exhaust housings, that'll affect spool the most. The return is just a 45 deg fitting straight off the turbo then down to the pan. No kit really fits the HX series cause they're weird turbos.
