So far as I know as the springs are slightly larger and won't sit in the lower seat (held them in my hand and tried, they're simply too big and might have been able to force them in). Then again, the machine shop that did my head is run by a bunch of morons...

I have the lower seats in.

Nice... so either way... it will work with no side effect. I told the machine shop what I was doing and he looked at me weird. I told him its been done by many other supra owners. He turned around and said o well.... guess i can make it work. Com 975 on their way.

Yes, you need the lower seats. Spring steel pressing, chattering, and rubing on aluminum is not healthy play time.. It will slowly eat up the aluminum surface as Ian said, and will also add aluminum powder to your oil. It is a tight fit, but they will fit.

Brandon - That machine work you posted from page 2 should be between 670.00 and 725.00

If your old oem stuff is still up to the task of being upgraded to a higher spring rate, then yes, all you need to buy is the springs.

I just recently got my head back from my machine shop, and with getting the head decked, tanked, 3 angle valve job and reassembled it cost me 425. Although I received a bit of a discount on labor as my buddy was doing most of the work. Block work is yet to come as the engine is still in the car, i just had the spare head worked over.

Can you post some pics of your heads gasket surface..

Yeah, once I get my new shop setup i'll get some pics. I have a few questions about it I wanted to post pics about anyway from pitting due to the BHG. Near the water journal by #6. Wanting to see if its going to give me any problems sealing once assembled with the MHG. I know there was almost .008 removed from the head surface to get it smooth. But its only a spare head. I'll get ya pix up within the next day or so.

There is nothing you can feel via finger nail across the surface, other than where the pitting is. So im trying to find out if the head is scrap because of that pitting, or will it seal with the MHG with head studs?

Im also going to be cleaning up those water jackets as long as the head is going to work. I plan on hitting it with the dremel to clean out everything in the journals. That was just from the hot tanking, not getting in there really. And yes that head has green coolant thru it, cause the previous owner was an idiot and didnt run red. But I also have a feeling the head thats on my motor is going to be the same way. Fire away at the head and lemme know what if anything is wrong. Will that pitting near the #6 cause a problem sealing? I am not sure with it being a bit away from the main sealing ring around the combustion chamber.
