also, jonathan, where might i find the location(s) of these firewall grommets so i might replace them? is it a difficult thing to do?

They are all over the firewall...go look. Everything that goes through the firewall (engine wiring harness, heater hoses, clutch, etc...) has a grommet around it (thick rubber O-ring).
i saw them! so, now i know where they are, do you think i could fix them by myself? some of them looked old and yucky.

well, i mean, do i have to take the head off or what? i have the general idea, but i have never worked on an engine before, thats all. or ami better off taking it to a shop?
