Thought I'd post an update on my conversion. The mechanical is done, just need to paint it and get that windshield replace. Anyway, here are some pics. Anyone wanting to do this type of swap should find some of them useful. My next goal is a MKIII with a 6.0 liter LS motor. Back it with a stout 200R4 and a 2800 RPM stall. Put in a cam, intake & carb and an ignition box to run the DIS.

Paint coming soon. Here's a video and how much power it's putting down. I'd say 400 hp to the rear wheels with a boat load of torque to boot. Check out my other vids on youtube on how it's done. This thing is wicked at WOT.

Dud WTF is that brown thing on the upper rad hose?

Nice work in progress. Gotta love the hearing-damage-inducing sidepipes, very classic.

Mods to motor?

Not bad, got a nice little project there. A friend of mine is doing a LS1 in his 87 Targa car, but he is planning on using the fuel injection and a T-56 tranny. We got the engine almost ready to go in.

That brown on the radiator hose is the label affixed to the hose when it was new. Never peeled it off. Mods to the engine include:
350 roller motor with Flat top pistons
Vortec heads with the guides shaved to allow more lift
LT4 Valve springs
Crane roller rocker arms
Roller Cam .510 lift
Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake
Edelbrock 750 CFM carb
B & M 2500 RPM stall converter
700R4 with 3-4 upshift valve and a shift kit
B & M Mega shifter for overdrive transmission
Headers and sidepipes
3.73 LSD differential
Puts down plenty of power. It's insane in 1st and 2nd, a total smoke out. Have to feather the throttle to get a good launch.

Would love to see an LS1 MKIII build.
