yeah thats my decision, im gonna rebuild my current motor. There's just been too many instances with a low mileage JDM motor going bad.

I know i caught the knock early the crank may not even be touched. I may just have to drop in a new stock spec bearing.

You should send the crank out to be ground. Most rod knock 7m cranks will be either bent, cracked, or scored or all three.

It will be cheaper for me to buy a new crank.. rather then have it worked on. Especially since i will lose the hardened layer (most of the time), I can get a nitrided crank.

Last time I checked, a new crank was 3- 4 times the cost of a flux, grind, polish, and champher of a used crank.

depends on how deep they have to cut, the hardening is not just on the surface...

while you have it torn apart, you might as well rebuild the head as well...
