Hey guys I am seeing the cons of all this but am going to give it a try. I am running the AEM which gives me 2 options of 0-1V output. The AFR calibration (P3) emulates the Autronic Wideband O2 Sensor calibration (0-1V). The AFR calibration (P4) emulates a non-linear Nernst Cell calibration (0-1V).

So do I need to set it to linear or non-linear?

The ZT-2 he is talking about is Linear output.

O and for those who are curious Zum pointed out the the check resistance is 3 - 3.6 ohms to make sure the O2 heater is workin so I am going to try one of these resistors.

Thanks,
Seth

Perfect! Started the car up already with the stock O2 just tied off and the Ox wire cut and tied to the wideband. Runs decent but needs some tune and I will play with the settings.

Thanks,
Seth

Well the car runs good most of the time but has this lean thing when the RPMs drop down. I am not sure yet if it is load related or RPM related. The wideband corrections are definetly slower then the stock O2 as I was running before. You can tell it has a slight delay. I will be putting a stock O2 in tonight and see how it runs.

Any ideas why it would have this lean hang? Basically it goes full lean 18+AFR on my AEM gauge and wont pull out of it. Even cruising on the freeway if I go down a hill a bit and the load comes off the car and it starts leaning out a bit instead of stopping at 16ish it continues to go full lean and then when the load comes back on I have to blip the throttle a few times hard to get it to richen up otherwise it stumbles and is stuck lean. This is all 10% or less throttle position.

Unfortunatly this is not consistant and I can't find a reason other then a slight bit of confusion with the ECU's interpretation of the signal from the AEM? So I will put the stocker in tonight and see if it cures the problem.

Thanks,
Seth

^ I was experienceing the exact same thing, got a narrow band and put it in and now it does the opposite, starts at stoich and then finds its way down to about 12 and runs rich untill I blip the throttle. Did you ever figure out what the deal was, or does anyone have any other input?

im not sure how open and closed loop fueling works on the supra... but when I was having issues tuning my focus and having the same problems... it was because the tune was off quite a ways at idle and the pcm couldnt correct for it... thought the o2 had failed and forced open loop operation which is obviously going to be rich...

could be completely different on the supra... but its just an idea...

Basically, if something were to happen with your wideband setup, like the WB sensor or the controller then you have no o2 signal to the ECU anymore. Any since you're operating in closed loop the majority of the time that's not a good thing, as that's when that signal is important.

As you said, $3, few minutes, forget about it.
