Sup folks!

Looking to make some braided lines to replace some hoses in my engine bay. I would like to know what size an fittings I would need.

I want to fab the following.

Power Steering Hoses
Ventilation Hose
PTE67 Turbo T4 Oil Return Line
Fuel Lines for AFPR
Fuel Lines for Walbro Fuel Pump

Thank you guys. This information will really deal with the biggest problems for me.

That's all I can think of for now.

The high pressure line also need to be able to hold 1300psi+.

You can measure any hose nipple in question. In -6an the 6 refers to 6/16ths or 3/8ths inch hose and fittings.

Alright, this is definitely a good start. I think this website needs some sort of sticky in regards to replacing stock lines with braided lines. I know I have been wanting to know about this for years all condensed in one thread. Now that I am actually in need of it, I figured I would get 'er started.

I just bought a chassis and it happens to come with a custom PS resevoir. I believe it is the Beech version. They use a -8 feed to the pump and a -6 return line from the rack. I am assuming I would need new fittings for the pump and rack too?

Please keep the info coming!

For which motor?

7m prolly 6an.

Depending what you do some things can be drilled and tapped and use An adapters.
Welded on.
Or use tube adapters.

The pump will need to either have the suction fitting have a an fitting welded on or use a tube adapter.
I used a tube adapter on my jz but the suction fitting was -10 so I used that.

As for the fitting on the rack it's the same and I used a tube adapter on the stock piece. Might be hard to find a banjo to an adapter in the right size but I never looked.

This is for a 7MGTE.

I know the hole on the ventilation hose is huge. I am not sure if this effects AN size or not?

I will be running a walbro pump on my 7M. I am assuming I will need tube adapters for this because I don't believe they have AN fittings. I have never seen one in person.

Could weld adapters on the hanger as well. Tho unless your going to do the lines from tank to engine it's not really needed and kinda useless unless going for big power.

The big hose behind the alt is prolly a -16 or something. You have to measure it. And as the bigger an get the more expensive it gets. -20an fitting just 1 is around 80-120$ for just that one fitting. Where a -4 is around 8-10$.

Also quality fittings are much easier to install on the hoses. Also I've used Teflon ss and braided nylon and the nylon is so easy to work with its not even funny.

So you would recommend braided nylon over teflon for all uses? Can I find it rated for a PS pump?

Is there a diagram of where the fuel lines run from pump to engine?

EDIT: Just looked on summitracing and it seems that the cheapest way to replace the ventilation hose is to use braided hose with a hose clamp. It's too expensive any other way. You were right hvyman. I will be using a Spectre blue/red hose clamp. Still looks nice and is definitely better than the stock hose. You should see mine. It's destroyed itself near the valve cover opening.

The ps high pressure hose has to be a special hose rated at 1300+psi. Id use stock or the dm one.

What does DM stand for? :D

Summit only seems to have -16 black colour nylon braided hose. No regular silver. Where else is a good place to shop for hose and fittings?

Braided nylon only comes in black. If you want the silver stuff it's all ss(stainless steel) braided hose.

you could get the black nylon and use colored nylon wire sleeve over it to make it any color you want.

So other than the hose that Driftmotion sells, what else can be replaced from the Power Steering resevoir? I don't have a car in front of me as I am away, so I really are unsure where the hoses go where.

That's why I wanted to know if there was a diagram of the routing? Preferably real pictures and not from the manual?

I am not sure if there is. All this crap would be easy to do if we just knew the measurements of the ports...

I am very confused how a list hasn't been compiled of this information yet. As large as this community is, sometimes I don't understand how there isn't more organization.

This would take 5 minutes for someone to post this info. It will get sticky'd and no one would ever post a quest about this again.

Come on guys, I know someone has the info!

It's good info, but its not very elaborate. I did use the search multiple times. There is pieces of good info spread everywhere. It's a disaster.

Sitting here right now I'm still confused.

So what he is trying to say is the fitting sizes on the rail AND FPR are M12x1.25? What fitting size would I use?
