I am in the process of compiling all the parts I need for my single swap this winter. The goal is to make about 450-500whp on pump gas street tune. Hopefully on race gas I can break into the 600whp mark but we will see.
My question is regarding the current intercooler on my car. I have what I believe is an HKS Type S core with added endtanks and hardpipes for the 1JZ. The dimensions of the intercooler are roughly 24x12x3. I realize that I will need to redo the hot side piping when I go single but was wondering if this intercooler will be efficient enough for my setup/goals. Reason I ask this is that HKS only rates this intercooler for 420ps but then I see other sites advertising that a similarly sized intercooler is good for 500-600bhp.
Can someone shed some light on this situation?
