Updated VS Original Doward BBK, big difference?

I'm planning on doing the cobra brakes on my car, and buying the doward kit to do it. I saw on DM that they updated it with different bolts and steel center rings. Is there a huge difference between the old vs new kits?

I found a few people selling the older style kit, but I would rather the new one if it's worth an extra $40-50. Is it?

I used the older kit on mine and it worked ok. I had to shave the aluminum rings some to work and I bought 2 button head screws to mount the caliper holder to the bracket. A lot of people ground their bolts down, but to me it just didn't look like it would clear. The head of the cap screw(the one that comes with the kit) will hit the spindle on one side when you attach the brake mounting bracket to it. This would cause the caliper to sit at an angle relative to the rotor. Not sure how much better the steel rings would be hopefully they are made with tighter tolerances. I know the aluminum ones were waterjet cut. I probably would have preferred a lathe cut piece.

Thanks, I'm thinking I might just get the new kit. They are lathe cut now according to DM. I'm not sure what else they changed, but I don't like using an uncoated aluminum ring between a steel hub and rotor anyway, being dissimilar metals and all.

I wouldn't really even be upgrading the brakes, except I'm putting larger wheels on and I think the stock brakes will look oddly small.

These 13" rotors should fit perfectly in a 17" wheel.
