UPDATE: Just bought another cracked turbo

Core usually denotes just that the CHRA not the housings...

Thats a classic area for the ct to crack.

If its not more than 1mm deep and hasn't protruded through to the other side, rock on. Let that thing eat.

Yeah, my stocker and the 'core' I purchased went all the way through. The wastegate had the usual cracks, not worried about those as much as the grand canyon on the short side radius(I guess you would call it that). All is well, I got it back from the shop so no worries, although gaskets are bloody high, Toyota quoted me 95 bucks for the turbo gaskets.... Napa wanted 65. Ohh well. As long as I dont have to drive my mustang, Its worth it.

Dont' skimp on the gaskets. The toyota or napa ones are the only way to go. They are multi layer steel. If you go paper, you'll have a dead turbo in no time.

I wont skimp out on gaskets. Im cheap, not an idiot. Thats like reusing a headgasket, I guess you could but why?

Call Jon (MDC) I sent him a perfect core ~6weeks ago (I didn't need it). I don't know if he still has it, but if so, just buy it built from him....
