Ticket for failing to yeild to the right of way, ect ect...

We don't know if that did or didn't happen. Hopefully it did. If not, like I said, that report will pretty much tell exactly what happened. They are very detailed, and must be filled out properly or they come back to the officer to do over again. It just seemed like he was pissed at the cop, for making him move his car out of the road, and for saying "oh", after he answered the officer's question. I'm sure it wasn't so much he was pissed at the officer, but more at the idiot that cut him off, and the resulting damage to his supra.

He'll need to clarify it, but it sounded like he was told to leave without any tickets being issued. They may have been issued after he left though, the police report will tell.

That sucks a lot.. You should be able to get her fixed up quick. Over on the Mk.II forums we have to fight, really fight, for the value of our cars with insurance companies. Mk.IIIs have a little more leverage with them.

Good Luck!

No, I didn't think the cop did his job as far as noting the position of the cars involved. He pulled up, got out of his cars and said if they start get them out of the street. Didn't look like he could care less about where the cars were or how they got there.

Then the guy that saw the whole thing went up to him and told him just that, he had seen the whole thing, just didn't seem to care, never got his information that I know of.

He was more concerned with me calling him a stupid motherfucker, as for saying "oh", that was the cop who said that when he asked me what I said and then I told him I called him a stupid motherfucker.

Because it is a freakin old car that in terms of blue book value isn't worth the cost of repairs.

Unless you have receipts to prove the added value of you car you're most likely screwed.

I worked for Enterprise Rent A Car years ago and dealt with every insurance company. The way you're treated usually depended on wether you were the claimant or the insured and how bad the accident was, i.e. DWI, DUI, reckless driving etc... I found Allstate to be the worst for claimants. They would ALWAYS try to use cheap foreign parts for DOMESTIC cars instead of OEM. They were awful and would literally argue over nickel and dime shit, like the daily price of a rental back then of $14.99/day. They wanted $14.95/day. State Farm was almost as bad but the liked to try to assign a percentage of fault to the claimant and then deduct that off what they wanted to pay. Saying that you were 25% at fault because blah blah blah reason.... and so on. Oh, and not wanting to pay for the cost of new windshields or fenders because of pre existing damage, even though they were destroyed in the wreck. I could go on but I digress...

Try negotiating with them and settle. This will NOT be worth an attorney. Oh, and keep a lid on your temper. I know your pissed but believe me, ins adjusters will lowball for being an asshole. I've heard a many say they have.

Good Luck and I'm sorry this had to happen to you.

Look in your area on any of the car selling websites and see what it would cost to replace the car in that condition.

Blue Book value means shit, DON'T let em total that car.

This is the kinda stuff they try to pull on us Mk.II guys all the time. You just need to find cars selling of comparable value. I'll give you one right off the top, mine. I'm asking $6,000 for my 91 Turbo it's on my website too. We sold CambellsChunkySoupra's Supra on my site to for $6,000 and it was in far worse condition than both of our combined. I'll put the page back up for his car, if you want me too. Seriously don't let them even think about that, you just gotta keep on them about the true value of your car. Also it might help to find an appraiser that's into Imports. Have him look over pictures of the car before the accident.

Don't let them do it, you got to fight! Seriously. :)

Well, they want to offer me 2667.00 and I keep it ofr 4100.00 and they keep it.

The major stumbling block for me is the assigning of a salvage title to it.

I just put in a 1j that was over 3k alone. They are not taking in to account of the actual cash value of this car. If it was truely an accident, the unavoidable type I would probably be more inclined to entertain their offers, but this is all caused by some kind of assclown trying to showoff for his friends.

It looks like they are trying to play hardball, so I will wait a couple of days for their next offer. It will give me time to cool off some too.

See the funny thing is they want to pay you more money than what it would cost to fix it.

Play them back to let it get a salvage title for that.

Good Luck.
