unknown plugs on 86.5 and 92

Found this thing when switching out the stock cassette player on my 92. What would they be for? They're on the same wiring loom as the stereo..

stock woofer.?

Also at the junkyard this past weekend, I found an immaculate original 86.5 (also snagged the owner's manual and assorted literature :yikes: ), and it had the rare 86.5 - 87 stereo adapter harness..

it also had a weird plug attached to it, and another plug on the adapter harness..

they don't seem to plug into each other..

any ideas guys.?

ancient bump, still wondering if this is why my 86.5's 89+ headunit doesn't light up..!
