Has anyone heard of or used these fuel control boxes on a 7mgte? (see link at bottom) The seller has a 100% rating with 1260 items sold, most being vacuum kits I am sure, but never-the-less he has excellent record, but not sure if anyone has tried with this motor....

Planning to use with upgrades as follows, Turbo (bolt-on), exhaust elbow, 3" exhaust no cats, MHG, MBC, upgrade SSQ bov to Synapse BOV, inter-cooler (replacing remaining rubber for hard pipe), 550 injectors... looking for that 400ish hp...

Appreciate any input - good, bad or ugly...

Looks like it just alters the intake air temp reading or something to that extent. I wouldn't bother when theres MUCH more reliable known solutions that aren't big money.

You might want to read up on the AEM F/IC on the AEM forums, LOTS of issues related to that box and controlling ignition. That IAT mod on ebay is a sure fire way to really shorten the life of your car im betting, what happens when its 90+* outside and that box is telling the ECU its like 60*? or vice versa, I would think you want that sensor to retain its functionality as Toyota intended.

If you just need a fuel controller get a Apexi AFC Neo, and let the factory ECU control ignition, I mean the AEM box seems more like its geared towards cars wanting to add forced induction where the ECU does not have ign tables for boost.

Thank you for the input, yep makes sense after a little more investigation... looks like the Apexi ranges from low 300's to low 400's depending on who you buy it from...

Thanks again, I will add it to my list of items that need to be ordered...

The AEM box is for OBDII cars. Keep an eye out for a NEO. IF your patient you can find them for as cheep as $290 slightly new.

Untrue. Can SAFC 1 or 2 do this?

Hell, you can get a MAFT Gen II for $300... tuning, AFR tracking and MAF translation... I wouldn't go with anything that didn't offer control over the fueling; Otherwise you just don't know what you're going to get.

EDIT: The Gen II runs $250.
