Mine is just primer under the insulation. Kinda makes the whole 'my insulation looks like crap' debate a moot point.

i have the cusco strut tower bar and the padding would make contact with it and leave spots that got burnt into the aluminum..... so after searching the forums for all other supras with cusco strut tower bars i realized everyone removed theirs, so i did the same.

had my cusco tower bar polished and chromed to get rid of the marks the padding left, and so far so good looks beautiful ;)

when i get my car painted i'll be sure to paint both sides of the hood.

Are you sure your hood wasn't replaced and then just not painted underneath?

Is it primer, or is it satin black? OEM Toyota parts are satin black when unpainted.

It's primer grey. Could be a replacement, I'm not the original owner, but the paint on the hood (top) looks original - read, looks a LOT older than the paint on the rest of the car.

Yeah, but if someone is good, they can do it and nobody will tell.

My hood was repainted a couple years ago, and I can't tell, heh.

My hood is like that as well, I took off the insulation because my blow off sits kind of high for some reason and hits the hood :icon_conf

both my supras had the stock paint color under the hood. I figured by removing the insulation it would allow a little more flow from the engine to the vents and would not trap the heat in by acting as a engine blanket.
