I have a 89 MKIII non-turbo auto that has been sitting up for some time before being purchased by my son and I. The seller was able to get it started and it ran long enough for us to get it home. I replaced both of the cam seals, and bought a new battery. Now it turns over but will not start. I have drained all the old gas from the tank. I can not hear the fuel pump running and have tried to jumper in the diagnostic plug. I do get an arc when I place the jumper wire in the plug. When it turns over I do get movement in the tach. Any help would be appreciated, I need to get the car running, the HOA is breathing down my neck already. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Scott

I don't get any sound at all when I put the jumper wire in.

Fuel pump probably rusted over and seized. This is what mine looked like when I dumped the tank.

Somebody else was having a no start issue and pulled down his gas tank and found his fuel pump looked just like mine.
Imagine the junk that ran through your lines when you drove it home. Make some room in your garage and put it in their to avoid the HOA.
