The name "SUPRA" should be out of trademark now

From what I remember hearing, car manufacturers can keep a cars name for either 7 or 8 years after the vehicle was discontinued. Since the Supra was discontinued in the US in 1998, that makes it 8 years now and the Supra name is no longer owned by Toyota. (unless they'd be so anal as to go by when it was discontinued in Japan, but even in that case, time is running out for them on that aspect as well)

By in all rights, Ford could make a Supra and they would not be incurring any infringements to Toyota.

Tanya, is that Morissa Tormei in your avitar? I don't know how you spell her name, but it's something like that. I always thought she was smoking hot.............lol

Edit: I've looked at it a couple of times and something about it looks a little different, but it does look like her in a way.................:dunno:

Is supramania selling products? NOPE. If Horse Power Freaks was Supra Power Freaks, then that letter would apply. Would anyone else care to share their interpretation of that letter?

lol When I was a youth I used to scream that at my hypocritical "religious" neighbor(s). I understand your first over-reaction: you love your Supra very much, as most everyone else here does. Back to topic: Any other thoughts?

those were my exact thoughts. Trademarks are supposed to stop people from selling a product under the same name. Seeing how Supramania, the site, does not sell anything, then there is nothing wrong. Legal team was sitting around thinking, "it sure is slow, we better make work before we get fired" this is a little dissapointing, seeing how i buy all my stock replacment parts from toyota, and i just baught a toyota tacoma, from a toyota dealership. and this is how they repay my loyalty??? Somethings not right

That doesn't apply, lol

I mean, there's actually a LOT of SUPRA companies... my hubbys old condo had a security intercom with the Supra name on it, but those are trademarked by other companies, not Toyota.

Confusing legal BS if you ask me

hmm pure gay, these sites are part of why people purchase a vehicle, if there was no information on supras or uspport, i wouldnt feel as proud or be even clsoe to as knowledgable about them.,. as forthe example "tundraSolutions" the word tundra has been around long before toyota used it was a truck, they could claim the name of the site is referring to a cold climate, and the discussion have to do with a truck because thats a good vehicle if you;lre stuck driving on rough conditions liek i nthe tundra.
