Well Im going to try to make this event. I have a bit of work to do to Lucy before she will be ready. I have been wanting to move to Austin for a while now. I have a buddy in Houston that wanted to move with me. He cant do that until Summer when his kid gets out of school. SOOOOO...I may be moving to Houston until summer. If I can manage to make all the arrangments to get this done before TX2k7 I will make the event.

If anyone from the NW is driving down for it please let me know if you want to caravan. My only thing is I have to make a detour through Albuquerque. I still have stuff in Storage there that I need to grab.

So yeah, Im gonna try real hard to make this event.

I don't think you understand, here are pics from last year's Dyno Day, it's a pretty prestegious spot to fill.................................

What I don't understand is how it says "first come first served" in the main post dyno section but this guy with the celica is being told his car is not "prestegious" enough to get to dyno.

This is very simple. This is not an "open" dyno day. This is a Supra/Viper/Vette dyno day. They will have enough of those cars to fill the entire day and will have no space for other cars.

Imagine if the Celica club had a dyno day and 20 Honda Civics showed up at 3am to get in line and suck up all of the slots?

I see nothing wrong with limiting the cars that are allowed on the rollers.

Updated first post.

DLM, the dyno spots are very prestegious indeed. Most of the Supras that dyno are heavily modified making in excess of at least 600rwhp.

I understand all of this, I have been before. I am just saying that in the main post there are no limits of "prestegiousness"(I know it's not a real word) listed so it would be easy for the 20 70whp civics to show up thinking they would get to dyno for free. Besides, maybe this is one prestigious celica.:naughty:

I think the more correct term for Texas is that this is a Mk4/Viper/Vette event.
No you are so wrong about that statement, in fact the Celica is welcomed to compete in the Road Race event, it is welcomed to compete in the 60-130mph timed runs, and it is even welcomed to time trials at the Drag racing event. This is primarily an event for Supras, not Vipers or Vettes or Celicas.

The Show N Shine is open ONLY to the 4 generations of Supras, no Vipers, Vettes or Celicas. However, the dyno shop where Dyno Day is held is at a high end performance shop that specializes in building 1200+ HP Vipers. People come in from all over the world for this Meet and one of the things that they enjoy the most is watching 1200+ HP cars battle it out in the Dyno Challenge. It's part of the entertainment of the Meet. So to answer the first question, no they probably wouldn't laugh if you dynoed your Celica, yes they would probably be pissed off that you wasted everyone's time.

Hey guys... don't forget about the Road Course. Peter needs more people to sign up by the end of this month or he will be forced to cancel the track. With all the street racers we have driving MkIIIs (risking your lives and the lives of other drivers around you) there should be more people jumping on this.

If you've never driven on a dedicated track before then you MUST do this! But be warned. It is addictive. Imagine doing lap after lap as fast as you feel comfortable pushing your Supra - with no fear of the red/blue sneaking up behind you or that little old lady pulling out in front of you.

I have taken my Supra out on a track a few times for a "Parade" lap (we hit 130mph on the back straights) and I got to drive a Z06 on a track at full speed. WOW!

Get over there and get signed up. You won't regret it!

I am planning to sign up but am short on money right now but as soon as i get it i will be if there is still room.
