one - Yesterday the clutch was fine and gears went in nicely, and today it was very soft, first gear wouldnt go in easily, and reverse would not go in at all, all the other gears were tough. could it be the tension loosened? what is it?

two - i hear a really bad clanking sound coming from the rear end when i accelerate, and when i go in gear it vibrates and makes the clanking sounds sometimes while moving, in first gear the clanking is really noticable. what could this be the differential shitting on me? how much would this cost?
Fml.. :1zhelp:

Fire the engine up give the clutch 3>4 good pumps and put it in a gear, let me know if it's easier to get in each gear this way.

no its the same :/. like if i try reverse you can hear the gears grinding and bam it finally goes in. and first is just stiff as shit. yesterday the gears were going in fine, so i dont think my clutch couldve died in one day?

bleed it..?

also, how old is the clutch master/slave?

Mine would stick and engage very very low. It would grind if I tried to shift it, and it wouldn't come out of gear unless I shut it off..

When my slave cylinder went out, the clutch was real soft and wouldnt come back. Had to drive it home like that by tying a neck tie around the pedal and pulling it back up as I shifted, since it wouldnt come out of gear at times... Its prolly your clutch master or slave cylinder. I think its recommended to change both at the same time?

As for the rear end, if you need another one, PM me. My cousin has the one out of his 87 Turbo for sale.

it goes in gear ok when the car is off if that changes anything, and i guess i will try to bleed it tommorow. i have to step on the clutch all the way to barely put it in gear :/

Reverse doesn't have a syncro, so it will grind if the gear pack hasn't spun down yet. It's also the first to grind badly if the clutch isn't completely releasing as well.

^^ thats how it is for most toyotas, put in 3 or 5th gear and then put it in reverse and will be fine, and i have to agree with the master and slave cylinder

Ok so it appears i need a new clutch sine i have the r154 i should say my car is a 87 turbo? Even tho its n/a right and secondly the rear end noise at high way speeds the car vibrates a little more than usual could be the driveshaft any way i can tell if a drive shaft or differential went bad?
