And the fact that they are very expensive to rebuild after? If you want that, why are you using a stock manifold, I would think a T4 would be better, just my opinion. I think BOSS makes a ball bearing turbo for the ct26 flange

20+ psi is not a power level.

Anyone seriously considering putting that kind of coin into a turbo setup should ditch the stock manifold and internal wastegate system, and move to a proper turbo, manifold, external wastegate, and matching downpipe.

Why bother throwing money at spool times in the form of BB turbos when you're still going to be held back by everything else in the system?

Which aint crap. Psi does not mean hp. Run a tiny crap turbo at 20+ psi and then run a big turbo that flows more than the tiny turbo does at 30+ psi at 5psi and then you will see the difference.

If you want hp then switch to a t4 setup. If not then you can get the boss series bolt ons, sp61gt, or cx racing are about all your choices for bolt ons. Unless you get a basically custom adapter for the stock manifold.

But none of that is even worth it unless you have the fuel and tuning to use it. And running any turbo capable of 20+ on stock ecu and stock fuel is just asking for trouble because its going to be way past its limit.

I always thought that the main draw to ball bearing turbos wasn't so much for the slight increase in spool time, but rather the reduced lag between shifts since the wheel doesn't slow down as much? Either way, they are much more expensive and less reliable to the journal bearing turbos.

It's Not Important Bro

Boss Jr.in 57 or 60-1. Its DBB also. Not cheap.
Use the Search Button please, a good bit already written.

Search "Boss Jr" to hear from those folks who use it. Even some Dyno charts posted up.
Suprasport has a nice write-up on the Boss JR also. Basically, with the correct supporting mods on a well maintained
7MGTE, you may add 80 to 110 WHP.

T4 has more potental IMO.

@ original poster:

In order to upgrade your car you need to do a LOT of research and speak to a LOT of people who have done different setups to determine which is best for you. Follow various upgrade stage guidelines which can be very helpful.

Slapping a turbo on without supporting mods is going to be dangerous...and with supporting mods is going to cost $$ so be prepared to spend a lot and do it right.

You can refer to my signature link if you want to get an idea for bolt on stages (http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98571).

-->I followed the following (not to a T, but pretty close): http://www.thesupraforums.com/showthread.php?t=1 and it was very helpful.

I also called Jack at Suprasport a lot as well as Aaron at DM for their input. They are both really nice informative guys. Not to mention the guys on this site. I also relied on some local friends who own a performance shop (mostly do Nissan 240's etc) but having that local knowledge has also been helpful.

In summary, for 400whp and low cost go with a 57 trim (or a less relaible 60-1) upgraded CT26. You can get them from Aaron at DM or others...

For over 400whp, you probably want to go wit a T4 setup.

For anything you do, make sure you have the proper supporting mods and guidance with a good tuner.

Goodluck.
