I'll take the accordian hose and the harnesses for sure. Lemme know how much for an ignitor(although BHG might have one for me), and how much for the turbo...

ok i got 2 ignitors, ill let you have the better looking one, a HAC sensor, turbo pressure sensor and resistor pack, what looks to be a 87-88 harness (yellow ecu plugs), a 89+ harness (grey ecu plugs), and a cut jdm harness; all the harnesses are missing connector. the turbo has a little side-to-side play, maybe 2mm at the most, no back-and-forth play, and all the oil and coolant lines. i havent found the accordian hose but ill keep looking, i might have thrown it away after i replaced it. sending pm on price for everything

on a side note: all but the jdm harness and turbo i got from mattsmalls

Thanks!
And I decided turbo is more important than springs so I dunno.

EDIT: After reading all that I just wrote it seems a bit redundant on some of the stuff already stated in this thread but I just wrote all this so I'm gonna be hard-headed and post this anyways. Hopefully it garners some feedback. /EDIT

Ok, so I need some opinions. I may need to make a new thread since this one sucks and doesn't get many views.

I've been going over what's left to go turbo with what I currently have and I'm having second thoughts after doing some research.

Here's what's going on:
  • I got a free turbo block from Mattsmall. The block is unknown condition with no signs of catastrophic failure visible from the top. (Pistons all look fine and the cylinder walls look fine with no visible scratches from my brief observance of it) (I have yet to take the oil pan off though...)
  • I would use the head off my 7mge that is in the car since it was recently cleaned and machined.
  • A bunch of people are offering to donate parts towards this build to make it happen
  • I would still need more than a $1000 to complete the swap IF I find the block is ok to use as-is.

From reading threads on here though, it seems like I need to tear the block down and probably/possibly rebuild it and at least re-ring it and hone it. I need some opinions on what to do!

Should I hold off on getting parts and wait to see the diagnosis of the block? If the block is within spec, go ahead with the build. If it's not....then what?

Goals:
-Stock 7MGTE with MHG and ARP'S, later on raise the boost, blah blah, just BPU no upgraded turbo.
-That's all I want

Don't punk out again! Projects take time, so just get through it a little at a time, it took me over a year and a half to get my first turbo 7M on the road.
Prioritize and stick to it. Don't waste money on shit you know you don't need. The Supra is more important, lol.

Awesome! Another BHG! Why do I keep buying these POS cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So after I do this HG again, it is getting sold no doubt. So look out for it in the for sale forum in about a month...

EDIT: Couldnt wait. The car is for sale now... Please get it off my hands.

EDIT II: Sorry for what I wrote above... I was kinda mad.

Soooo obviously you saw how mad I was yesterday....
I dunno what I'm gonna do now. I think maybe the reason it blew was because of not re-torquing. So I'm gonna fix it again and make sure to do the re-torque.

I think putting up the for sale thread was a little rash but it's gonna stay up because if I can get $4000 after I fix it then its gone. Meanwhile I guess I'll keep collecting parts to go turbo... ...although MK3.0Dudeman is willing to trade straight up for his 88' turbo. So we'll see.

92 NA > pre 89 anything. You know this.
Lol, yeah a 92 turbo kick's so much more ass over a pre 89. But a 92 N/A being better? All N/A's are the same in my book.

dude that sucks about the BHG, but you know you don't want to get rid of a clean '92...

do you need it for a DD, or could you put it in the garage and save up for a 1JZ swap?? if you can't wait, I would just do the HG job again, re-torque, and still save up for a swap :naughty:

Probably what I'll end up doing.
