t1.jpgt2.jpgt3.jpgt.jpgHey guys I'm kind of torn on what to do. I have two 89 ht turbo 5spd supra's ones gray the others red thats how i will refer to them in the post. So my gray one is bone stock except for bic 3" ddp 3" tp and 3" Blitz nur spec catback and also a k&n intake. The red one i recently acquired is built i knew the previous owner and even rode in it a couple times. here's my dilemma the red one has a hole in the piston. It still started and ran, i drove it home when i got it but parked it and since have started pulling parts. well the owner gave me two spare heads and a spare block and other parts but he took the bov fmic and elec. fan setup out. So my silver one runs drives but i think the turbo seals are going bad and the stock intercooler is cracked and the starters bad. I ended up pulling the starter out of the red one I've pulled the turbo, manifold, wategate,ic piping, blitz sbc & turbo timer its got aem wb egt and boost guages that i still have to pull along with downpipe exhaust and walbro fp and he was running a haultec standalone ecu . Now here's where I'm like wtf do i do? can i run the aftermarket turbo manifold wg on the stock ecu? if thats what i choose i will be installing the aem wideband the walbro fuel pump ill get some 550s and lex afm and put the fpr in it or should i get rid of the turbo and pick up a 57 trim ct26 im just confused and wanna drive my supra again..... any help input opinions thoughts would be greatly appreciated ive searched till im red in the face but keep getting half answers and misleading info idk what to do

yea you can run whatever and however big of a turbo you want
all depends on boost level/flow rate
depending on turbo size...since you say motor was built im thinking turbo is a decent size
just keep boost low
stock ct26 at whatever psi(lets say 12psi)
will be the same flow as lets say a 60-1 ct26 at lets say 6-8 psi

these numbers are not accurate...just using them for an example
also make sure you can put the accordian hose onto the compressor housing

I'm gonna put some pics up but lets say all I do is swap the stock turbo manifold, turbo, dp, and wastegate i would still be running the stock bov untill I change the ic piping right? and if i do put the 550's and lex afm i would also or should also install the walbro fp? < is this necessary for lex afm and 550's? and aeromotive fpr blitz sbc and tt? whats the easiest way to tune with lex afm and 550's or would running all that be ok on the stock ecu sorry just trying to make sure i understand i dont want to f**k it up but i wanna do it myself this is my second supra i basically got the red one for all the parts since it was blown and i have no idea what id be doing with the haultec stand alone which by the way is probably for sale if someone wants it look for my parts classified ad... thanks everyone

no problem
just remember your still going to have fuel cut with lex/550s(but it can be raised)
i have heard of some people just using the lex/550s/afpr and turning their afm screw in/out and supposably get a good afr
i personally would recommend apexi safc or greddy emanage with the lex/550s/afpr and walbro 255 pump(honestly the pump isnt needed but wont hurt)
or skip the bullshit and get rid of the afm with either a HKS VPC/safc combo or 1 simple box called maft pro(this is what i run)
or just use the haltech and have tuned
either way tuning will be needed

does the garrett have shaft play? looks like either he was running pig rich or had a issue with oil leakage?

Yes, you still have fuel cut with the Lexus/550, but really, that's a GOOD thing.

So long as you are running stock engine management, you want fuel cut. You want that protection in the event that something holes your IC, or you pop off an IC pipe connector, or even worse, your wastegate just gets stuck closed.

For the fuel pump, it should not be necessary, but it's a good idea. You've got a 20+ year old fuel pump in the tank, so a new one is cheap insurance. The AFPR is also a good idea. At the very least, you want to remove the J tube restriction.

thanks for everything guys! are there any tuners in va that are reputable with 7m's that anyone knows of or can vouch for? and supposedly the owner was driving and his buddy was messing with the timing settings or so he thought he was really messing with the fuel settings and burned a hole in one of the pistons he tore it down said the bearings eagle h-beam rods were all still good along withthe other 5 pistons he gave me everything to fix it but im new to the standalone and im still working on getting the title so i figured id just tear it down put all the bolt ons on my gray supra and take my tme and build one of the other motors the block thats in the car now is supposedly built balanced and blueprinted so im going to have it checked out to see if its usable and go from there. as far as maft how complicated is the install and getting it up and running etc, etc... im not looking for crazy power but i would like to see between 375 400 hp and tq thats not far fetched for what i have is it and a couple more questions. can anyone tell me if thats a t3 or t4 flange? is there any way to change the downpipe flange on the turbo to say vband or a diff style flange? or would it be easier to reuse the old dp its just bulky and ugly imho. thanks in advanced guys!!
