Turbo upgraded or not?

I am curious how I can tell if the turbo has been upgraded or not. I just bought an engine from a friend and he said his uncle had the turbo upgraded. Claims it was ported and polished and rebuilt. He GAVE me the turbo. However I want to know if it is. If not I want to have it done. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thankyou

I will JUST AS SOON as I get it. Like I said I did not pay for it. So I am not complaining. I just don't want to expect something and not get it. I only want to take it off and back on once. Till the next upgrade.

That is all I need to know. I really am up to date on Most performance. However I am new to the turbo cars. I am quite uneducated in this area. It is alot to try and learn. I have a goal of 400hp. +/- 25. I don't want to under shoot. and waste my $$$. So guess back to do more research Thanks.

Looks like its been resently rebuilt. I'd sell it and get ahold of someone that can upgrade a stock core for you up to a 57 trim that should get you to your hp goal.
