Well I have an HKS type "0" Timer in my car.

Heres the story.

With the turbo timer unplugged, The car starts right up, no need to repedily click the key over to get the starter to engage.

But other times, i need to keep turning it to start.

I have tried re-grounding the turbo timer in many different places, and after a while, this problem keeps arising.

Right now, its grounded to a bracket that is off the Dash Bar.

Any suggestions? Can I ground it to multiple places, see if that could help?

There is a good ground point behind the drivers side kickpanel. I have never had issues with that location. Are you sure its the turbo imer or just a weak battery?
I know weak batteries do create symptoms like this in Supras. Engine my turn even but won't start. Try putting your supra one in the Camry and using the camry one if it is newer...

I've been having a problem with my ground when my supra was running too, my turbo timer would shut off when I floored it and went above 4k RPM's, then come back on shortly after I let off the gas.

But what moe said, could be your battery?

Edit:
Also, now that I think about it, my alternator was going bad when that problem was happening to me...
check your volt's on your alt just for the sake of it.

My Battery is new.

The ground wire is connected via a crimp. Maybe ill fix that tomorrow.

I hope the turbo timer isn't shot.

Im teaching someone to drive a 5 speed this week, So i need it to start fast. I may just go turbo timerless for a while

It seems like its in the ignition itself. But try it without the timer for a while and see if it does it. If it still does it, I'd have my money on the ignition. My old N/A supra used to do that. If i sat there and did what you did, it would eventually start.

Well the silly thing is, When i take the turbo timer harness out, so its just ignition harness to ignition harness, it starts fine. I truely think its the timer itself unfortunately.

it could also be the ignition harness connector/TT harness...

I was just thinking the same thing.

Just reread, are you 100% sure it's the ground that's at fault?

Im going to disect the turbo timer wiring tomorrow. Ill just snip the wire where the wire to the e brake is, but deffinately going to check these places.

1. The Turbo timer adapter harness
2. The Ground wire itself
3. The jumple of wiring.

Well like they all say, 99% of the time. an electrical problem is in the grounding.

Im going to run it for a few days without a timer, just to make sure it is a bad link within the timer itself.

And within those few days, I will dissect the whole timer harness. Time to whip out my soldering gun.

Same thing on my car. Same thing happened to Ivans car too. He ran a new wire from the ignition (i think) to the starter and as far as I know he hasn't had any problems since.
